I Have Reached That Age

view detailsIt seems to me that I have been stepped on or taken advantage of by businesses my entire life.  I have reached that age where I am not willing take it and remain silent.  Here is the story of my latest pain.

My husband and I purchased a metal building from a well known company.    Since I sent the down payment, it has been very difficult to reach anyone at the company.  I have since learned this is a common problem with this company.  The deadline for delivery of the building was two days ago.  The building has not arrived.  I have just left them a voice mail stating that they violated the contract and asking for a return of my down payment.

If they do not return my call, I plan to begin a new blog about companies who use unethical practices and take advantage of customers.  This company will be my main focus.  I will tell the entire story including names, dates, and times.  I will set up a special email where others can share their stories about this company.  Later I may branch out about other companies, but warning the public about this company will be my mission.  Research has shown there have been 39 complaints filed in the last 12 months.  Many people have written that they did not get their down payment back.

I am praying that these measures will not be necessary.  I am asking God to solve this matter quickly and peacefully.  I don't like bitterness and strife.  I have no desire to hurt this company, but I will not allow this unethical practice to continue without warning the public.

Seeking a Friend For The-- End of The World

There is a new movie being released on 6/22/12 called Seeking a Friend For The--End of The World.  Here is one promo: As an asteroid nears Earth, a man finds himself alone after his wife leaves in a panic. He decides to take a road trip to reunite with his high school sweetheart.

In the movie the world is going to end and this man is trying to decide what to do with the little time he has left.  News Flash:  The world is going to end someday.  But unlike the characters in the movie, I am not seeking a friend.  I already have one.  My friend is the son of the creator himself.  He wrote me a love letter and in it promised to take care of me for all eternity.  Here are only a few of his promises:
  • “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
    Matthew 24:36
  • Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
    Luke 23:43
  • For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
    John 3:16
  • Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
    John 3:17-19
  • This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
    1 John 4:9
  • “Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.
    Acts 13:38
Do you have a friend for the end of the world?  If not please consider accepting Christ as your Savior.  It is simple and quick.

Reflections of Rosalyn Due For Release

My second adult novel Reflections of Rosalyn, A Life of Victory will be released soon.  The publisher sent me the cover today and I want to share it with you.

Rosalyn is a recent widow who must now face life alone.  As she grieves for her husband, bits and pieces of the past come back to remind her of the events that brought her to this point in life.  Some events were joyful while others were painful.  But all contributed to making her the woman she is today.  Young people will identify with Rosie as she struggles to grow up.  Parents' hearts will ache as they watch this young lady face unimaginable pain alone.  This is a book for young and old alike.

Many times authors are asked which is their favorite book.  If I were asked today, I'd have to say Reflections of Rosalyn.  When I started this novel, I didn't know where it would go.  I cried as I watched this young lady's painful experiences and rejoiced at her triumphs.  The book is special to me, but this beautiful woman who just happens to be the main character has my heart.  I feel like I didn't actually write this story, but rather typed as I watched her life unfold.  This is Rosalyn's story and I am grateful she allowed me to watch her tell it.
